Positive Interdependence:
- Scribe: Documents the group’s ideas, and creates the script/article for the news report. Additionally, the scribe is the reporter between the group and teacher or class.
- Editor: Ensures all aspects of the news report project are being met and in a timely manner. Also helps other group members complete tasks.
- Artistic Director: Finds visuals to be included. Also ensures the news report is eye-catching and visually appealing.
- Researcher: Compiles the sources found by the group, checks the information used in the news-report, and creates a list of references in MLA format.
Individual and Group Accountability:
Each group member is responsible for one aspect of the presentation. Participation from every group member is necessary for whole-group success.
Group Processing:
Group members will self-assess their work, as well as reflect on what they could improve.

Social Skills:
Students participate in a gallery walk and view each others' art. Additionally, students work collaboratively to create their poster/video/pamphlet. Students are not only interacting with each other, but with members of their community as well.
Face-to-Face Interaction:
Students will build upon each others' ideas to successfully complete this in-class activity.
Specific Task:
Students will be charged with the task of identifying an issue affecting the community in which they live.
